Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
You have time this weekend Brian? I have time. Three of us together for some time. Legs wouldn't take long and would give us time to chat out some things regarding the construction (and other topics).
I can almost definitely handle 8 foot 2x4s in our Cruiser, but a full sheet of plywood won't work. I am not sure on the hinge deal, or if it is even a great idea. I really need to see the table and have it drawn out a touch with it there before I am convinced. Not saying it is a bad idea or the way to go, rather that I can't quite tweak my head around it.

Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
I would be available all day on Saturday and can haul whatever I can. Let me know what exactly we need for power tools or any other screws, brackets or anything like that. We don't have a hinge like the one Andy was talking about and I have never seen one myself. An issue with the hinged lid like that is it would need some extra space on the one side to flip open and I guess it seems little complicated. It would definitely be better to have it attached and hinged like that rather than just panels that lift off if we can get it to work.

Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
Cool - I'll look forward to checking it out. I'm still fuzzy on the "top". What's the idea behind that, Andy? Why is it needed? Seems kind of superfluous. Is the terrain something that needs to be covered? Are folks going to do anything else on the table that it would need a top? Won't it get in the way when it's open if it's attached? Just trying to see your vision

Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
well i am tapped out for the week, spent too much money on the board so far. Honestly, they just want something to cover it to help protect the terrain. Its too high to really use other than a gaming table.

Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
Mr. Tusk, I am an avid gamer and just got back into 40k after being somwewhat dissappointed with the whfb action. I've got two armies that sat for months, and are up for sale wink wink. (skaven - tomb kings) parts But anyway... I just recently did a chimney job here and have some left over material about 150 board feet of 2x4, 4 or 5 sheets of plywood (different thickness) durrock, cultured stone. I also have a nailgun and compressor as well as saws tools etc we may need. As most of this stuff would just sit in my storage most of the winter absorbing moisture and becoming damaged I would be glad to donate some of it to the effort as well as some time to help get it together. Honestly with askills aw and a nailgun i couldnt see something like this really taking very long. And i could be in madison this week. Please email me at grrzoot2020@hotmail.com or go ahead and send me a message on the madison 40k site as the password requirements for this site are such i will probably forget the password.... lool thanks

Re: The Sandbox over at Pegasus
just noticed i wasa little late with the offer. I am more than willing to help with the top though. It would be very easy to cut a piece of osb to fit inside on some small standoffs and just put like 2 holes, one on each of the short edges to pick it up with.
