Re: New Comp System - Need Feedback
The two engine list is *the* nasty lizzie list, much like thirster/horrors/flesh hound/flamers. That's why it's hit so hard. You can bring one engine without much of a hit.
Cheers

My point was that it is hit by far harder than anything else you can take, and that your standard modifiers are completely adequate for penalizing dual EoTG already. The additional modifier is unnecessary.

Re: New Comp System - Need Feedback
Which additional modifiers, exactly?

Re: New Comp System - Need Feedback
I see that as good, an EotG changes just about every phase, it increases the combat effectiveness, the psychology, movement, magic, and each one can hold a flank on their own. It's that good, I don't see the additional -1 as a real hindrance for what it brings to the table. You may not like it, but if you look at how much softer builds for other armies are likewise hit, you'll see that this system gives negative modifiers for extreme lists, which dual EotG's fall into.

My argument is not that dual EotGs are not a very powerful build, simply that the basic structure of this comp is very well suited to penalizing them without a special additional penalty. And in a build where dual Engines are really nasty, requires either a slann or them to be over 400pts, which again is additional penalties for PD or 400+ pt models, but built within the basic framework of the comp. The general comp restrictions are perfectly adequate to penalize this build to varying degrees without the need for a special modifier. It simplifies the comp system slightly without losing effectiveness.

Well, ................That being the case, and understanding what is trying to be accomplished with a comp system, why bring it then? Or, if your deadset on bringing it, and that's all fine and good, just take the hit. It's not that you're blindsided and don't know it's coming.. -Dave-

Yeah, I understand your point. I do feel it's necessary. Double engines should get more of a penalty then engine/lance skink. It's nastier.
Cheers

Re: New Comp System - Need Feedback
Evan, Your comp system needs an acronym, I'm getting tired of calling it "that comp system that was posted on wwhfb then iwfb then twf by that Evan guy." I suggest ECS, for Evan's Comp System.
