 Dogs of War FAQ
While I am taking this with a grain of salt, the Dogs of War forum is claiming that GW Italy will be putting up a DoW FAQ sometime in the near future. The folks running the site seem to be implying that there is some truth to this rumor, so that may be good news for those of us that play DoW. http://dogsofwaronline.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1020

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
Cooool. I'm sure some kind and worldly soul who is bilingual will translate for the rest of us plebians?
Why the devil would they only release it in Italy? Do they have a stronger following there or something? Maybe it's an Italian employee writing the rules and they'll translate them for the rest of us afterward?

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
Italy has always been a little old school, they sold some of the chaos dwarfs back in the day well after everyone else had stopped, and some kislev stuff too IIRC

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
Maybe its because a lot of the DOW stuff has an Italian feel to it - vesperos, crossbowmen, special characters, pikemen, etc....

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
Below is the newest from Dogs of War forum. Sounds promising... http://www.dogsofwaronline.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1020&page=3 | | | | Quote: Well, let's make a short resume about what is happening in Italy.
Italian Warhammer's Players Group (FIGW) adopted Tilea.org's ruleset in the summer campaign (2009) and was a success. Dogs of War hitted 3rd place overall and helped Dwarfs (2nd place) and light's force to win over Dark Elves (1st place) and dark forces. Then, FIGW used Tilea.org Dogs of War Project's ruleset in one of the 3 official format for tournament in Italy and so, Dogs of War revisited were used something like 170 times!
Alessio Cavatore liked the work and asked to GW to let that official but permission was denied. In an unformal italian interview after he left GW, he let us understaind how and why.
With 8th edition, Italians players asked for Dogs of War so GW Italy (Cavatore it's not involved of course) asked for an adaption of 6th edition rules to Tilea.org's Team! This adaption is now submitted to GW and probably in a short time will be available to the website, even if we know that probably an official presentation will be on Italian Games Day.
----
About the work, Tilea.Org's Team had some restrictions: impossible to modify points and rules, even if something was made. Imagine that if you want to use Dogs of War now, you can't use Goblin Hewer or Hot Pot or Galloper Guns. More, Lost Legin it's more or less impossible to manage. Tilea.org's Team had a try to adapt to 8th edition the rules to let them works, change a little bit where possible (hope rules about Tilean Pikes and Paymaster will make enough happy Dogs of War's players) and make order everywhere.
Tilea.org's Team made a brand new pdf that has a new graphic and look-like a new armybook (even if the background part it's of course missing). Impossible to say what will change at the end, but for sure Dogs of War will be playable!
Tilea.org's Team included in the pdf the Mercenary Giant, Special Characters, Goblin Hewer and Manflayers!
----------
As I know, Tilea.org's Team read this forum still hoping you will change idea about a great collaboration to let Dogs of War rebirth! Fabio (pker868, coordinator of Tilea.org's Team) said many times that if someone will show interested like in past, will be possible to make an English version of the official Italian rules.
In past, even if Tilea.org Dogs of War Project didn't found a large help for international version, discovered in CRUB a great person who helped to adapt in a well formed English the whole Dogs of War Project! Infact Cavatore watched English version, not italian one...
If more than just a person have the will to help, will be possible to make a great English Version and let English GW upload the 8th Edition PDF on their site available for all players on the solid base of Italian GW update. This can be a good goal in a short period of time and maybe can be a good starting point to make and suggest a new pdf (like the Tilea.org Dogs of War Project one) to GW with a massive collaboration of all and to obtain worldwide what in Italy a Dogs of War player already have! | | | | |

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
This is from Tilea.org

If I understand the quote from my last post, I believe this may be the document that is being mentioned that is being submitted (was submitted?) to GW Italy. Not certain, but it is an interesting read either way.

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
Thanks for keeping us up to date on this. I've been trying to adapt my albion plans to Empire or WoC for 8th, but would love to keep my original DoW plans for them....

 Re: Dogs of War FAQ
That sounds promising. It's nice to keep hope alive of some sort of official support for the Dogs. Many thanks for all the good info!
