Post Mordor: What army do you want to face?
So I am chugging along on my Mordor army and wanted to know what kind of list would you prefer to face? I like the idea of a LOT of orcs, but Ringwraiths seem like a mandatory choice (both from what they add to the power of the list and due to the fluff). I don't really see bringing more than 2 Nazgul to a 1,500 pt game though. But then it comes down to captains and monsters. What is a good mix that you would prefer to face? 2-3 Nazgul but less captains? 1 Nazgul and more captains (3-4)? No Nazgul but gothmog and a LOT of Captains and Trolls?

Your opponents will NOT want to face more than 1-2 Nazgul in a 1500 point game. They're an easy buy because of all the stuff they can do, but they can be pretty frustrating against some good armies.

Yeah, thought so.

I was thinking of trying a list with no Nazgul, led by Gothmog, Karsush the firecaller and 2 captains and a Troll Captain and 2 separate trolls. Rest is Mordoer orcs, Warg riders and some Morrnan orcs.

Sounds like fun to me :)

I'm hoping to get some more WotR rolling in Madison in the future. It's a good system - like any other from GW, it can be abused.

Hope you like playing Mordor. It's the faction I focused on and enjoyed playing it. In a lot of ways, it's one of the more straight-ahead forces in the game... the ole glass hammer. Smacking folks with huge blocks of orcs is always fun, but those dern good heroes can be tough to crack. Brimmer had some interest in a WotR get-together and I hope we can do it sometime this year.

We have to plan a WoTR bring and battle. I would come up to Madison for that no problem.

There are 2 other Milwaukee WoTR players that might come too. We all play primarily non abusive lists. But honestly, abuse hasn't been an issue. I stopped playing a Stone Giant after 3 games because it never did anythign but die to things like archers or Ghosts.

Well I'll needle Brimmer a bit and see when we can get this done - glad there's some interest! :)

Yes I am interested. Not sure when I would be able to do it though. Got some WM/Hordes events coming up, and I don't get many weekends to play. I really want to get my Elves out for some games. I haven't played LotR since Midloo went back to school and they got put in the closet.

I think limiting the Nazgul to 1 in your list would make it pretty fair. They are insane for the points. It can be pretty tough playing against two or three of those bad boys.
