Well we lost our 500pts-a-month thread. Let's get it going again!

Here's the schedule:
--500 points painted by the end of March
--250 points every month after that

The purpose is to get that new army you've had sitting in a drawer for years off and running. Sometimes looking at the whole pile is overwhelming, this should help make that stack more approachable.

Please post the army you are working on and your initial 500pt list.

It's just past the halfway point. If you've got pics of your progress thus far, get them up!

I am down, but again, total noob here, points are what you are talking about in the back of the book right?

I choose the Vampire Counts... I will post some pictures later today of my progress once I get the points figured out..

OK here is the start of my army, need to take the photos of the skeletons I have painted, but the wife stole the camera.

Also have dire wolves and some blood knights done, but again, no camera, and I need to finish all the bases, but not sure how I want to do that yet.

and Midloo I definately have to meet up with you, so you can teach me your ways... LOL I need better base work.. of course I have been doing this only a month or so.. so I am getting there... Knowledge is what I crave

You know I'm in. I'm a month behind but I have Trolls to paint so hopefully I can catch up some. I also switched from Dark Elves to Warriors of Chaos. Here is my 500pt list.....

Though I will not be painting a Spawn and am still waiting for a decent Throgg model to show it's shelf.

ok I know I am new, the point system is the one in the back of the VC book?

I'm not real familiar with the VC book specifically, but yes - generally speaking the point costs are listed within a section in the back. It usually starts with a page describing the unit and character limitations for the force, and then goes on to describe the point costs for heroes, core, special, and rare units... followed or preceeded by a bunch of items you can buy.

So when you're putting together a list of <1000 pts, the beginning of the section will tell you what units you are limited to using. Usually no Lords, 1-2 rare units, etc.

Brimmstorm is more familiar with VC and might be able to help you specifically regarding them.

LOL no Lords, guess I should stop painting Mannfred von Carstein on Nightmare... I rather like this piece, just not sure how I want the base to look yet...
